HISTORY >> PA(音響/照明)
20 years as an audio engineer.
When I was on board as a sound staff member, I used to play music all the time, even on rainy and windy days.
The sound team is called a PA team in the industry. Public Address" means a broadcast facility, but the way it is used, a sound system that "communicates to the public" is generally referred to as a PA.
When I first came aboard the cruise ship, there was a kind of club called the sound team, and I joined it.
When I think back to why I joined the sound team at that time, I remember that I was in a group called the "sound team,
I remember it was for the irrational reason that "it was cool to see them winding the cables quickly in a figure eight.
It didn't take me long to learn the so-called "figure-eight winding," and I was hooked on the depth of acoustics.
For three months, I was trained in the basics of sound, and forgetting that I was a guest, I provided sound support for all kinds of projects on board. I found myself falling in love with this unseen behind-the-scenes work, and after returning to Japan, I bought and read every book I could find on PA techniques.
After that, I worked as a PA on several round-the-world cruises (maybe eight), and it is no exaggeration to say that my life on board the ship in my twenties was spent with sound.
As much as learning sound technology was a treasure, it was meeting the team members that made it all worthwhile.
I think that is an explanation that can be satisfactorily explained by looking at the photos.
